Suspected fraudsters arrested and contraband seized in the Littoral Regional capital.

Kondengui Prison: Suspected Fraudsters In Possession of Access Card

The two suspects, Thierry Tchafand, 27 and Roland Sapoudje, 50, were caught in Douala with a Toyota Corolla car with a fake registration AD 6960 B, used for their operations. The two led the police to their residence where an access card to the Kondengui Central Prison in Yaounde, a bunch of eight keys of different vehicles, two filled gas cylinders, a dagger, two Android phones, a bunch of 17 keys and a spare tyre, were discovered. The suspects were taken to the Littoral Judicial Police in Douala where investigations are ongoing.


Bepanda: Police Confiscate 250 Litres Of Contraband Fuel

Some 250 litres of contraband fuel were seized from some three dealers in Bepanda, Douala a few days ago during a joint patrol by the Rapid Intervention Brigade and Intelligence Services. Illicit fuel stocked in houses has been the main cause of deadly fire outbreaks in the port city in recent times. The seized fuel was handed over to the Littoral Regional Delegation of Mines while the three suspects napped in the Bepanda neighbourhood are currently in custody at the Judicial Police for questioning.


Bonaberi: Shop Reduced To Ashes

A shop known as the American Shopping Complex at Ancien Route Bonaberi, Douala, was consumed by ravaging flames at 1 am on Friday, July 10, 2015. The shop and its content are said to have been reduced to ashes while the origin of the fire is yet to be determined. Though the intervention of the Fire Fighting Brigade put off the flames, not even a pin was saved from the shop owned by Abraham Ndifor.


Bonamoussadi: Robbers Steal FCFA 800,000 From Parked Vehicle

The victim Herve T., was having a nice time at a popular drinking spot at Carrefour Yoro Joss in Bonamoussadi, Douala when unidentified gunmen broke one of the glasses of his parked vehicle and made away with a bag containing FCFA 800,000, a laptop and his passport. The incident, which occurred as early as 9:30 pm, went unnoticed by the crowd that usually makes the area busy. A report has been filed at the 12th District Police Station and investigations opened.
