50th anniversary of Military : Tourism Minister Assesses Hotels Preparedness

Minister Baba Hamadou was in Bamenda on June 2nd and 3rd, 2010 to see how ready his services are for the event. Efforts to ensure a stress less accommodation of guests during the 50th anniversary of the nation’s Armed Forces to be celebrated in Bamenda in 2010 have been stepped up. Tourism Minister, Baba Hamadou was in Bamenda on June 2 and 3, 2010 to size up lodging facilities identified to serve during the event. In effect, Minister Baba Hamadou inspected renovation work in Ayaba hotel with revelations that work is 80 percent completed and the facility will soon be good for use before the anniversary.

Over cfa 500 million was coughed out by the President of the Republic to give the facility a face lift with the construction of a security fence, replace dilapidated kitchen equipment, change Lifts, tiling of floors, renovation of the swimming pool, ensure hitch free telephone communication facilities, renovate and equip the bar and acquire a standby generator with the ability to carry the hotel’s installations.

Away from Ayaba hotel, Minister Baba Hamadou went visiting, other hotel facilities like Kangle, Plaza, Clifton , Mondial, Penn Pan Pacific and Azam hotels. He dropped curtains on the outing sizing up construction work on the Regional delegation of Tourism in the neighborhood of Up Station, Bamenda
