House Speaker, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril confered on Monday with the UN Resident Coordinator in Cameroon, Thierry Mertens. The Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril on Monday, June 7 received in audience the UN Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Cameroon, Thierry Mertens. “Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril gave me the honour to receive me to speak about the bilateral relationship.

As to when the visit will take place and the purpose, the UN Resident Coordinator said that was still in the making and specified that, “we should refrain from giving you the details that are not yet finalised”.

Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril and Thierry Mertens devoted their discussions on examining some sectors of the cooperation. “There are 18 UN Agencies in Cameroon”, Thierry Mertens said and stated, “this is testimony that we are working closely on very large number of activities toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals by 2015”. Discussions between the two officials at the Cabinet of the House Speaker lasted for 30 minutes.
