End of President Biya’s visit to Brazil : Business Executives Received in Audience

President Paul Biya last Friday in Brasilia received some Brazilian Heads of Enterprises.Investing in Cameroon was at the Centre of discussion.

The VIP Saloon of the tulip Alvorada Hotel in Brasilia provided the setting for the final acts of President Paul Biya in his official visit to Brazil. On the programme was a series of audiences to be granted by the Head of State to business executives in Brazil. They all stretched from the mining to petroleum, public works, telecommunication and agriculture. Top on the list of personalities received in audience last Friday by the Head of State was the Director General for Africa of Andrade Guterrez, Jorge Mansur. Andrade Guterrez operates in mining, public works and the telecommunication sector. It is already an active partner of the Cameroon government with the ongoing construction of the Ngaoundere-Mbere road in the Adamawa Region. Already reselected for the Lom-Pangar hydroelectric project, Andrade Guterrez appears to be a viable development partner for Cameroon.

Petrobras Bio-combustivel was second on the line of audiences. It’s Excecutive Director for International Relations, Roberto Gonzalves accompanied by the Director of cooperation, Shanan Rubin were ushered into the presence of President Paul Biya. The deputy Secretary General of the Presidency, Magloire Seraphin Fouda and the Minister of the Economy, Planing and Regional Development, Louis Paul Motaze also participated in the audience. Petrobras is seeking the nod of Cameroon to do business in exploration, exploitation and exportation of Petroleum products. The third audience of the day was granted to two personalities. The deputy director for international Relations of the confederation of Industries of Sao Paulo, Thomas Marinho de Andrade and the Chief Executive officer of Hydromines, Peter Bigel sought audience to explain their interest in investing in Cameroon. The fourth and final audience of the day was granted to the Director of International Affairs of the Executive Commission of the development of cocoa, Ricardo Brodoso Tafani. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural development, Jean Nkuete and the Director General of SODECAO, Jerom Mvondo accompanied the Head of State during this last audience. Shortly after the audience President Paul Biya and First lady Chantal Biya left for the Brasilia military Base airport for their final departure from Brazil.
