Buea: Two Dead in Motor Accident

The twisted Toyota Hilux vehicle belongs to the South West Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife.

The corpses of Lyonga Emmanuel, 41, and Magdaline Melong are lying in the Buea District Hospital mortuary since tuesday 31st August night. They died in a motor accident between the hours of 10:30pm and 11:00pm when their Toyota Hilux vehicle CA 3591 C hit a concrete electrical pole, opposite the entrance in to the PCC Radio Station-CBS. The impact of the collusion with the poll resulted in the two right doors and the left front side of the driver sit being completely twisted.

The third person inside the vehicle Evans Tangie, an intern from the Mbalmayo Forestry School, who was having a holiday industrial experience with the Buea South West Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife, was the only survivor.

When Cameroon Tribune went to the Buea District Hospital accident ward to talk to the survivor, we were told that Evans Tangie had gone to have a bath to prepare for x-ray examination.

Family members are still wailing and preparing to bury their corpses. Lyonga Emmanuel was the driver of the Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife. Magdaline Melong’s service is yet to be known since according to the Chief of Service of General Affairs at the Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife her names do not figure in their register. Police and Gendarmes are carrying out investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
