Outgoing Moroccan Ambassador Lauds Cooperation

Ambassador Abdelfattah Amour had a farewell audience with Prime Minister Philemon Yang on monday.

The outgoing Ambassador of Morocco to Cameroon, Abdelfattah Amour says his country has excellent bilateral cooperation with Cameroon in the political, economic and socio-cultural domains. The diplomat who leaves Cameroon on October 1, 2010 after five years at the helm of the Moroccan diplomatic mission in Yaounde, yesterday, September 13 in a Star Building audience said goodbye to the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang.

In a press interview after the audience, Abdelfattah Amour said the hallmark of cooperation during his stay was the Cameroon-Morocco Mixed Commission session that took place in Rabat, Morocco in January 2007. The Mixed Commission sessions, he explained, manage agreements and facilitate trade exchanges. He announced that the second Mixed Commission will take place in Cameroon, stating that important cooperation agreements are being prepared to be signed during the session.

Substantiating the good relations between the two countries, the ambassador said Morocco offered a financial support of FCFA 470 million to Cameroon for socio-economic projects. He further said there had been many trade exchanges between businessmen of both countries and disclosed that Morocco has equally offered 40 scholarships to Cameroonian students.

Abdelfattah Amour described his five-year stay in Cameroon as fruitful, stating that he worked with Cameroon government officials to strengthen the fraternal bilateral relations. Once back in Morocco, the diplomat said, he would be at the disposal of King Mohammed VI ready to serve in any position.
