The remains of late Mr.Bongmuyong Pius who died at the age of 49 in the shisong catholic hospital on the 31st of august 2010 was last Saturday laid to rest eternally at his Rohmajai residence.

The corpse of the civil administrator was buried after a funeral mass conducted in the Kumbo Cathedral church by eight priests with Rev. Father Charles Mbuntum as the chief celebrant. In a moving sermon delivered at the occasion by Rev. Father Leonard, he said the deceased was a precious gift to us and a reliable servant to the Cameroon government. He challenged Christians to examine their lives and find out whether the lives they live is worthy of eternal life. He called on Christians to pray to God to remember late Bongmuyong as one of those who have been raised in Heaven. He cautioned Christians to care more for the soul, which would go back to God and not earthly material that cannot help them. He reminded Christians to repent and change their hearts so as to receive God’s mercy. Speaking at the occasion the senior Divisional officer for Bui Mr. Ngone Ndodemesape Bernard described the death of the deceased as a great loss not only to the state but his entire family. He said they had come to pay their homage to a fallen colleague and a friend as well as to share in the grief of the bereaved family. Mr. Ngone while expressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family prayed God to strengthen the faith of the bereaved family to bear the great loss. He said late Bongmuyong during his 25years of service to the government of Cameroon touched the lives of many Cameroonians and contributed his own quota towards the development of Cameroon. For his part Mr. Kenneth Bongmuyong one of the children said his late father taught them love and discipline. He thanked all those who turned out to pay last respect to their late father. He told the mourners that his father who was taken sick in July 2007 died on the 31st of August 2010 with a smile on his face. Late Bongmuyong who started work with the Ministry of Territorial Administration in 1986 worked also as First Assistant Prefect for Yagoua and as a Divisional officer for Blanoua, Ngie, Mbven, Njinikom and lastly with Ndop Central sub-divisions.

Mr.Bongmuyong Pius leaves behind his mother, wife Caroline Bongmuyong and four children to mourn his death. Present amongst others were the Senior Divisional Officer for Plataux division Mr.Tangwa Joseph Fover, the former SDO for Ngoketunjia Mr. Ngoe John Diny, Divisional officer for Kumbo Central Sub-Division Mr. Itoe Peter Mbonto, Hon. Joseph Lukong Banadzem and the Mayor of Kumbo council Njong Donatus Fonyuy.
