Baham: Governor Ivaha Diboua Tell Population to Harminize Efforts Towards Increased Production

 The population of Upper Plateau Division has to harmonize efforts towards increased production and diversification of crops and stock productions to effectively prepare themselves towards the Ebolowa agro-pastoral show billed sometime this year.

Governor Ivaha Diboua Samuel Dieudonné was addressing the people of Upper Plateau division,during a two day contact tour that took him and his entourage to Batié, Bamendjou, Bangou and Baham subdivisions, aimed at familiarizing the governor with the people and their problems. This second lap of governor Ivaha Diboua Samuel’s tour that started on 15th -16th September also gave the governor the opportunity to address important socio-economic, political and health issues, especially cholera that seem to be threatening the nation at the moment,even though health officials reported during the tour that no case of the epidemic has been reported in the West Region. The population was given guard lines on how to prevent the cholera attack by experts who revealed that committees have been setup in all subdivisions and health districts.

On the economic sphere, the governor called on the population to better exploit the great resources nature has given them and expressed satisfaction for the economic development in the Division and prayed that Upper Plateau should be well represented during the Ebolowa agro-pastoral show.

In politics, governor Ivaha Diboua said no society can develop without politics and called on the population to register massively on the voters lists with ELECAM that now has branches in all subdivisions. Talking about the social wellbeing of the population, the governor exhorted the population to live in harmony, peace and concord and , base their action on living together, calling on the population to develop new strategies for self-defence to protect their various communities from any antagonistic acts which could deprive them from social peace. To the many land and border disputes, the governor said these could be solved through dialogue and concertation, calling on chiefs and village heads to respect colonial boundaries. He condemned act of egoism, corruption and tribalism, warning that nothing can go above government texts or institutional laws that bounds each and everyone.During working sessions that were carried-out in public, heads of various services like Education, Public works, Water and Energy, Health, were called out to talk on shortages of teachers in school, bad roads, no supply of water and electricity to some areas, and lack of personnel in hospitals.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Bamendjou Emmanuel Mukam, just like his colleague of Baham Elais Tchadji, appreciated government development efforts in their councils areas, both pleaded with government to rehabilited poor roads, send teachers to schools and colleges, personnels in hospitals. In Bamendjou, mayor Mukam complained of regular highway robbers, in a brigade of 7 gendarmes to guard population of 75 000 inhabitants. He also called on the governor seek a quick solution to the land dispute between Bamendjou and Bamougoum in Mifi division to avoid blood shed.
