Mbouda: New Delegate Of Social Affairs Calls For Duty Consciousness Warns Against Laxity Absentism

The newly appointed regional delegate of Social Affairs for the West Region Mr Gwei Ernest Ngeh has warned the staff of his ministerial department to desist from laissez – faire attitude, laxity and absenteeism, which he feared up to this moment, are characteristic of that department in the region. He promised to do everything to inject new blood into the personnel of the Social Affairs in the West region to meet the desire goals of the ministry of Social Affairs.

Mr Gwei Ernest was speaking in Mbouda on 25th September, during a coordination meeting aimed at assessing the activities of the various services of the regional delegation of social affairs. The meeting was attended by divisional delegates of social affairs, Chiefs of centres for socials affairs, regional Chief of service and representatives of handicap centres. Addressing his staff, the Regional delegate Mr Gwei Ernest Ngeh said the meeting was mainly geared at putting in place recent government orientation of “results based management situation” which calls on the stringent management of scare resources placed at the disposal of service heads, and encouraging the staff to work harder, exchange ideas and to seek solutions to those problems that retard progress in the activities of the delegation and above all create a forum for the staff to know their new delegate.

The delegate stressed on the respect of hierarchy, discipline among staff, and punctuality at work places. He equally underlined the important role which divisional delegates’ chiefs of centres of social affairs are expected to play in directing and co-ordinating services of handicaps and vulnerable centers under their charge. He promised that hardworking staff will be compensated while the indiscipline staff will be sanctioned.

Anotherr issues discussed was this year celebration of the international day of the elderly persons, whose theme is “Elderly persons and the realisation of the millennium goal”, here the new delegate called on his colleagues to increase out put, and take care of those who were parents yesterday and are parents today.

After the presentation of various reports of activities by divisional delegates and chiefs of centre in the region, especially for the last quarters, as these personnel exposed their achievements and the difficulties faced, the new Regional Delegate exhorted them to be scrupulous and honest in the management of state budget.

Meanwhile the director of National solidarity in the ministry of social affairs, Mr Nyambi Dikosso III, also gave lectures on the recent ministerial order of 27th August 2010.giving directives on” the content of the condition and technical modalities for the exercise of powers devolved upon councils by the state in the domain of granting of Assistance to the needy persons”. The next quarterly coordination meeting will take place in Foumban in November 2010.
