Ahead of the National agro- pastoral show to take place in Ebolowa in December, 2010 the National Commission for Agro Pastoral Show was in Bamenda on 22, September for a an information and sensitization meeting. The Commission was also out to get information on preparedness towards the event. As explained by the Head of the commission, Nwana Sama Bernard who doubles as the Secretary General of the Chamber of Agriculture Fisheries, Livestock and Forestry, their visit was also to get suggestions and make improvements where necessary. He said the selection of exhibits range from sub divisional, divisional to regional levels and will be headed by the Divisional Officers , Senior Divisional Officers and Governor respectively. He said some 64 agricultural products; 36 livestock and handicraft products will be exhibited. He also revealed that about one thousand two hundred exhibitors are expected from all the ten regions of Cameroon . He said provision will be made for transportation, lodging and Feeding of exhibitors. On the ground the various ministries concerned gave report on preparations so far. For the Regional Delegate of Agriculture and rural development Notutu Godfred Awa , they have preselected 240 farmers to whom support have been given, after which they will select the best. On his part. The Regional Delegate of Livestock and Fisheries said they have also sensitised farmers and all is set. From the reports of the regional delegates of scientific Research and Innovation as well as Small and Medium Size Enterprises Social Economy and Handicraft preparation are on course and will be set by the date limit.
After listening to all the reports, the Secretary General to the governors office Balungeli Confiance Ebune was convinced that the region was set for the agro Pastoral show. He called on the farmers of the region to do their best so as to emerge best and win more prizes. Owing that agriculture is the back bone of the North West region, he was confident that the region will excel.
