The British, Nigerian, South African and Canadian High Commissioners to Cameroon say they are deeply impressed at the creative vision of the 21-year Cameroonian woman who was named best entrant for the Commonwealth Youth Vision Awards 2010 in the under-30 category last night in London.
Miss Mbia Mballa, who studies Economics and Management at the University of Douala, won the top prize for her film titled "Call Next Time". The winner said she was inspired by a leadership exercise at the British Council in Cameroon in which her group members were asked to transmit a certain message in a chain. The message got totally truncated by the time it reached the final receiver.
Miss Mbia Mballa, received her prize from Gurinder Chadha, the award-winning British director of Indian origin famous for films like Bend it Like Beckham and Mistress of Spice.
