The President of the Central African Republic, François Bozizé last Friday, November 12 sent a sealed message to his Cameroonian counterpart, President Paul Biya. The bearer of the sealed message, the Deputy Defence Minister of the Central African Republic, Jean-Francis Bozizé handed the message to Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Philemon Yang during a Star Building audience for onward transmission to the Head of State.
In an interview after the audience, the special envoy said he used the opportunity to brief the Head of Government on the tragic incident that recently happened at the Douala Consulate of the Central African Republic resulting in one death and many people injured. The incident he said, concerned a group of refugees from the Central African Republic resident in Douala who stormed the consulate to enrol on the voters’ list with false documents. Jean-Francis Bozizé solicited Cameroon’s assistance in seeking lasting solutions to the problem.
The envoy of the President of the Central African Republic and the Prime Minister reviewed bilateral relations which the envoy described as fruitful. The Deputy Defence Minister expressed the hope that the Permanent Mixed Commission between Cameroon and the Central African Republic continuously serve as a forum for the two countries to seek a mutually beneficial master plan to strengthen bilateral relations.
