Military Training Centre Launches Anniversary Activities

The Joint Services Technical Training Centre (CFTA) has organised activities to mark the week of the 50th anniversary of the Armed Forces.

The Joint Services Technical Training Centre (CFTA) in Ekounou Yaounde, has opened its doors to the public and is organising free medical consultation as part of activities to mark the week of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Cameroon’s Armed Forces. The Commander of CFTA, Lieutenant Colonel, Ngati Emmanuel officially launched the celebration activities yesterday, December 1 in the presence of the Sub-divisional Officer of Yaounde IV, Charles Binéné Mboka, the Mayor of Yaounde IV Council, Théophile Abega and other senior security and civilian officials.

The Ekounou Military Joint Services Technical Training Centre has as primary mission to train specialists in ground mobility, especially in vehicles and tanks. Presenting CFTA, Lieutenant Colonel Ngati Emmanuel said it trains, organises refresher courses and upgrades the skills of technicians and specialists in materials. The centre he further said, also carries out studies and research in areas of training related to its missions in conjunction with the logistics services of the armed forces or other organisations. It equally tests all equipment linked to ground mobility.

The officials present at yesterday’s ceremony had the opportunity of discovering CFTA through a guided visit to the workshops specialised in electricity, vehicle maintenance, spraying, motor mechanics, technical check up and driving. This was just a fore-taste of anniversary week activities in the centre that will include human investment, free medical consultations for the population of Yaounde IV Subdivision, open door days and sporting competitions.

The Military band animated the official launching ceremony of activities to mark the week of the 50th anniversary of the Armed Forces, one whose major highlights was march past. The celebrations proper of the 50th anniversary of Cameroon’s Armed Forces will take place in Bamenda, capital of the North West Region.
