The Commercial Higher School of Paris, known by its French acronym as HEC, and the Cameron Business Cartel, GICAM, trained some twenty managers of Cameroon-based private enterprises on the effective management of enterprises. After its inaugural conference of October 13, 2010, HEC Executive Club Cameroon last Tuesday, November 30, held a one-day conference on the theme: “The culture of high performance: factor of sustainable cohesion” chaired by Olivier Behle, GICAM President and facilitated by the President of HEC Paris, Frenchman Andre Guyard.
The objective of the one-day training session was to boost management skills with the goal to propel national economy. Participants, who were from enterprises like SOSUCAM, Tradex, among others, were impregnated with expert skills from HEC Paris. The participants were trained on the method of analysing and strengthening key areas that revolve around 10 areas within and between companies: customer relationships; operational structure; dynamic skills; teamwork; leadership styles; control operations; relations with external partners; planning; change management and sustainable development. About the theme, Olivier Behle said it stems from the fact that the rapid evolution of technology, economic and social enterprise environment requires the reinforcement of cohesion teams to better face the uncertainty of tomorrow in the business world.
Guyard was of the expression that the career path of any investment teams depends on the ability of leaders to develop dynamic skills that provide real value in the marketplace. “Developing a high performance culture within the company meets this need and allows an organisation to strengthen its performance in different operational areas compared with companies in the same industry,” he added. HEC is the largest and highly performant commercial school in the world, according to the British magazine, Financial Times.
