German Ambassador To Foster Parliamentary Cooperation

Ambassador Reinhard Buch Holz had discussions with Cameroon’s Parliament Speaker on monday in Yaounde.

The new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cameroon, Reinhard Buch Holz says he will work to foster and strengthen cooperation between Cameroon and Germany in general and cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries in particular. Reinhard Buch Holz made the declaration yesterday, December 6 after discussing with the Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

The German diplomat’s maiden visit to Cameroon’s House Speaker served as an occasion for the two officials to review bilateral cooperation. “Relations between our two countries are very good. There are no clouds”, the ambassador said and stated that “this makes my job very easy”. He said, “the good relations between the two countries can be fostered and strengthened and that is what I am trying to do”. Ambassador Reinhard Buch Holz and Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril discussed concrete ways of boosting cooperation between Cameroon’s National Assembly and the German Bundestag.

The new ambassador during his reign at the helm of German diplomatic mission in Cameroon will continue to consolidate cooperation in three priority areas the two governments agreed upon in November 2003. The areas include: health and HIV/AIDS; sustainable use of natural resources; and decentralisation, participatory development and governance. The German-Cameroon cooperation is translated into palpable development by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), German Development Agency (DED) and the German Financial Cooperation (KFW).
