Thanks to their 1-0 victory over Union Douala, Coton Sport now assumes the leadership position in the championship.

The defending league champion, Coton Sport of Garoua has taken over the leadership position from Union Douala at the end of the 4^th day of play of the MTN Elite One championship over the weekend. The Colossus from the North edged Union 1-0 in their own backyard at the Reunification stadium in Douala to place themselves in pole position towards winning yet another championship title. The defeat of the Nassaras Kamakai dethrones them from the 1^st to the 4^th position on the classification chart with seven points just as Ngaoundere University in the 3^rd position. Both teams have the same goal difference but Ngaoundere University takes the ascendance for having scored more goals than Union.

Though obtaining a virgin tie against Sable of Batie, Unisport conserves the runners-up position they had attained on the 3^rd day of play with eight points. Panthere of Bangante alias Nzuimanto equally seven points but distanced by goal difference by Ngaoundere University and Union.

There has equally been a minute shake-up at the bottom of the table with Astres leaping out of the relegation zone from the 12^th to 8^th position thanks to 2-0 victory over Renaissance of Ngoumou. The defeat sends Renaissance further down the drain as they drop in the red zone from the 11^th to the 13^th position. As Lausanne has distinguished self as the point distributor of the championship this year as they are yet to register their first victory. They therefore occupy the unenviable bottom position which they have occupied ever since the beginning of the championship this year. A. S.
