Prior to the campaign, the Israeli Ambassador to Cameroon, Michael Arbel, along side doctors from Hope Solidarity, organised a press launch at the Israeli Embassy in Yaounde on December 7, to throw more light on the free medical campaign which targets more than 5,000 people in the rural areas.

Ambassador Michael Arbel said joining Hope Solidarity in carrying out a free medical consultation in Cameroon is another unique opportunity to enable everybody enjoy the right to healthcare which is a fundamental Human Right that many lack. Besides government to government health assistance between Cameroon and Israel, the ambassador said the Israeli Embassy in Yaounde works on a people-to-people base by cooperating with credible NGOs such as Hope Solidarity to meet the health needs of the Cameroonian people. Although some FCFA 4.5 million has been disbursed from the Israeli government for the current medical campaign in Ngog-Mapubi, sources from Hope Solidarity indicate that other contributions by the Israeli government are quite enormous.

This is the third time Hope Solidarity is collaborating with the Israeli Embassy in Yaounde to solve some of the health problems of its compatriots.
