Technological Dev’t: CNDT Gets New Permanent Secretary

38-year-old Dr Likiby Aboubakar was commissioned into office Thursday December 16 by MINRESI boss.

Newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the National Committee for Technological Development (CNDT), Dr Likiby Aboubakar has been urged to stretch full length to ensure that the committee attains its mission and ably contribute to socio-economic development that the country badly needs. The call was made by the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, Madeleine Tchuinte while commissioning the new Permanent Secretary into his functions on Thursday December 16, 2010.

Dr Tchuinte told the incoming Permanent Secretary that he was taking over a structure that the government, through MINRESI, holds in high esteem and so he must strive to live up to standards. “You must leave nothing to chance to ensure success of the upcoming national agro-pastoral show in Ebolowa, build the capacities of personnel as well as ensure a proper organisation of the 9th session of CNDT”, she said. These short-term objectives, the Minister added, should not in any way compromise the committee’s mission of collecting, treating and preserving information on technological use and development in the country as well as carrying out studies on the acquisition and adaptability of technology in the country’s development.

Dr Likiby Aboubakar takes over from Dr Augustin Simo, whom the Minister praised for taking CNDT to higher heights. Loyal and relentless services, which she said, are not unconnected with Dr Simo’s January 28, 2010 appointment as General Manager of the National Agency for Radioprotection. Born on December 13, 1972 in Bogo, Diamaré Division of the Far North Region, Dr Likiby Aboubakar holds a Doctorate Degree in Earth Sciences.
