The birth of Christ the Saviour of mankind was celebrated last Saturday December 25. The day was marked by prayers and church services throughout the country. The day was marked by prayers and church services in all churches. At the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) Bastos Congregation in Yaounde, the presiding pastor Rev. Professor Emmanuel Anya Anyambod expressed the need for Christians to learn to have quiet time in their lives so that they can hear the voice of God in a soft voice.
The parish pastor of PCC Bastos, Rev Henri B.F. Fomuso said the message to the Christians during this season is to make them understand that the church is not celebrating just the birth of a child into the world, but rather the coming of Jesus Christ sent by his father to take on him the sins of the world and to be a solution to the problems and difficulties of mankind. “We are making them know that this is a time when we have to celebrate and thank God for the wonderful things He has continued to do for us despite our sinful nature. Christ came to stabilise our own lives we should continue to make it stable,” he said. The impact of the feast of Christmas according to him is to remind Christians of the fact that God continues to think about them and has promised and continue to make good plans for them.
