Military officers in Douala have been awarded new ranks while others moved grades in recognition of faithful services rendered to the nation. The award ceremony which took place at Place UDEAC in the nation’s economic metropolis was presided over by the Governor of the Littoral Region, Fai Yengo Francis.
January 1, 2011 therefore marked a turning point in the lives of the military men who moved ranks and grades as commissioned, non-commissioned and rank and file soldiers and gendarmes. The administration expressed its appreciation for their patriotism and encouraged them not to rest on their laurels, but to continue to remain at the service of the nation. The ceremony was also crowned with congratulatory messages from within the corps, family members and loved ones who turned out in large numbers at the award ground.
