Business persons in the Littoral Region have been encouraged to master the 2011 Finance Law for application in their various businesses if they must propel their ventures and contribute to the growth of the economy. Littoral Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Craft, CCIMA, Regional Delegate, Dooh Collins, was speaking while opening a capacity-building workshop on this year’s finance law that brought together business owners in the Littoral Region on Wednesday, January 12.
The workshop, whose aim was to improve on the knowledge of the business persons, especially with the particularities and innovations of the finance law, falls in line with CCIMA’s fundamental mission to get businesses eliminate adverse elements in their businesses and give an upward push to state revenue. “The accounting and tax treatment particularities and innovations of the 2011 Finance Law” was the theme under which the business people’s workshop deliberated. Dooh Collins reminded the participants of the role law plays on national economy. According to experts, there are so many innovations in the 2011 Finance Law which need better understanding for its application.
Among the many innovations are the collection of VAT from enterprises, free establishment and renewable of taxpayer’s cards to facilitate the creation of enterprises, and the rationalisation of control procedures and the reinforcement of the rights and guarantees of taxpayers through the communication of control within the well-defined time limits. The workshop gave room for enriching exchanges in order to ensure competitiveness of enterprises and for the strict respect of the prescriptions of the new law.
