Fecatirs Adopts 65 Million Budget

This was during the pioneer board and general assembly meeting that held in Yaounde last Friday. The Cameroon Shooting Sport Federation, Fecatirs last Friday December 21 held its pioneer board of directors meeting and general assembly at the Residence Les fleurs hotel in Yaounde. Top on the agenda was the adoption of the budget of the federation and defining the environment for the progress of the sport discipline in Cameroon. The major outcome of the meeting was the adoption of a FCFA65 million budget for the 2011 sports season and the re-organisation of the executive of the federation with the creation of a department of Communication to be headed by Charles Atangana Manda and assisted by Roger Ahanda, Fred Vubem Toh and Audrey Abona. The communication department was given the task to come up with a strategic plan of communication for the federation and work towards the successful organisation of the “Grand Prix Sheihk Salman” in honour of the president of the Kuweit Shooting Sport Federation who will be visiting Cameroon in August. To give the event the pump it deserves, Fecatirs has established a partnership with Semences Olympique headed by Pascal Atangana in order to include football and athletics to the shooting sport competitions.

Other activities earmarked for the 2011 season include the construction of a shooting stand in Obala near Yaounde where the mayor of that locality, Ediba Simon Pierre has offered three hectares of land to Fecatirs for the construction of the facility. The federation also planned to equip the office offered by the Ministry of Defence as well as recruit a secretary to work in therein.

The president of the federation, Colonel Dieudonné Ayissi, presented a balance sheet of the activities of the federation ever since it was resuscitated by the Minister of Sports and Physical education in 2007; notably affiliation to Nation Olympic and Sports Council, the International shooting sport Federation and participation in a regional shooting sport competition in Benin where Cameroon won a bronze medal, among many other activities. The federation decried the fact that no support has been so far received from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education and that the   afore mentioned activities were carried out thanks to the personal sacrifice of the president of the federation and a few people of goodwill. An on the spot donation was carried by members of the general assembly which amounted to FCFA291000.
