UK Mission to Host Business Indaba for Cameroonian Youths

About 60 young Cameroonians from diverse backgrounds will participate in a three-day training session to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills from 8th to 10th February, 2011 at the residence of the British High Commissioner to Cameroon in Yaounde.

This 3-day initiative has been crafted by Youth Employment Services (YES), an NGO run by young Cameroonians, to support home-grown entrepreneurs country’s youth as they celebrate the national youth week. At the meeting, resource persons from the International Labour Organisation and YES will lead discussions on business planning, management skills, marketing, the various tax regimes, the art of fundraising and guarding against failure in business.

Ahead of the meeting, British High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Bharat Joshi, said “Cameroon is a young country. I meet young Cameroonians every day who have extraordinary energy, intelligence and ideas for stunning business projects but lack the knowledge of how to transform these into reality. The British High Commission is working with YES to support individuals like that who, with the right tools and support, can drive Cameroon’s economy through the creation of successful small and medium-sized enterprises”.
