The Coordination and Supervisory Commission in charge of the recruitment exercise met last Friday in Yaounde.

The President of the Coordination and Supervisory Commission in charge of recruiting 25,000 young Cameroonian certificate-holders into the public service, Jules Doret Ndongo, who is also the Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, has specified that workers to be recruited will have the status of State employees, governed by the Labour Code. Speaking during the second meeting of the Commission last March 4, Jules Doret Ndongo said certificates considered for the recruitment include those issued at the primary, secondary, university and professional levels of education.

The Commission members met to discuss a series of working documents prepared by the Technical Committee. The Commission president disclosed that candidates for the recruitment will be selected through the study of files, combined possibly with a recruitment test. The recruitment is opened to certificate-holders aged at most 40 years on April 30, 2011. The president specified that no registration fee will be required and candidates will only use photocopies of required certificates to compile their files during the first phase of the recruitment. Once selected, the candidates will then be expected to submit stamped certified true copies of their documents. Candidates will have to submit their application files at all regional headquarters and young Cameroonians residing abroad will submit theirs at Cameroon’s diplomatic missions.

Speaking to the press, Jules Doret Ndongo said deliberations during the second meeting of the Commission focused mainly on issues related to candidates’ registration forms, composition of application files. They also discussed the needs expressed by the different sub-sectors with emphasis on the respect for regional balance.
