Nguti Voter Registration Receives Boost

Voter registration in Kupe-Muanenguba II Section of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), Nguti Subdivision, Kupe-Muanenguba Division of the South West Region recently received a boost from the Central Committee of the CPDM party. This was within the framework of a two-day section conference in Nguti (May 6 – 7) on the theme, “Working together to foster sustainable self-reliant development” patronised by the Secretary General of the CPDM Central Committee, represented at the event by Dr Fuh Calistus Gentry, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Technological Development.

In separate speeches, the leaders of the three wings of the party in the section outlined the party’s growth in the locality and praised the Central Committee for what they termed its constant and timely support to keep them going. Speaker after speaker praised the CPDM regime for what they qualified as progressive development of their locality through the creation of schools, hospitals and other social amenities. They however pleaded for more development projects like roads to open up the largely remote subdivision to the rest of the Division and country. Precisely, the construction of the Kumba-Mamfe road and others, appointment of sons and daughters of the subdivision to positions of authority, recruitment of youths into the public service and the construction of a mortuary in Nguti.

In response, Dr Fuh Calistus said Paul Biya is the answer and that the requests will be channelled to the right quarters for action. He prayed Nguti indigenes to register massively on electoral lists so as to exercise their civic responsibilities and to “give our unique candidate, H.E. Paul Biya a landslide victory during the elections. The CPDM is a party of trust, confidence, peace, tolerance, listens to and gives priority to the wellbeing of its citizens, especially youths who are leaders of tomorrow”, he said. To surmount the challenge of identity cards, said to be the greatest speed brake to voter registration in the locality, the Secretary of State led a fundraising in which over FCFA 2.2 million was collected to foster the acquisition of the precious document. As a sign of loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the CPDM regime championed by President Paul Biya, the militants addressed a motion of support to the CPDM Chairman, promising to leave nothing to chance to give him an unrivalled victory during the upcoming presidential elections. The two-day Nguti confab was attended among others by Dr Charles Alobwede, Technical Adviser No. 2 to the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife.
