FSLC Examination Underway Nationwide

The 2011 session of the First School Leaving Certificate examination began in the country yesterday. A total of 88,769 registered for the FLSC examination this year. The Minister of Basic Education, Youssouf Hadidja Alim, visited some sub-centres in the Mfoundi Division in the Centre Region to encourage the pupils. The Minister was accompanied by stakeholders of the education sector. The Minister visited the Ecole Publique de Nkolbisson, Government English Primary School, Ekoudu, Ecole Primaire Privé Catholic St. Alloys d’Etoudi, Government Bilingual Primary School, Essos and the Ecoles Publiques de Nkomo. In all the centres visited, no major problems were recorded. The examination began on time with very few absences recorded. In the morning, the FSLC candidates wrote Mathematics Paper I and II, Dictation and Guided Writing.

Speaking to journalists, Minister Yousssouf Hadidja Alim said the purpose of her visit was to ensure that the examination was going on smoothly. She said she was satisfied with reports from all the ten regions. She used the occasion to call on officials to persevere and be courageous, promising to give them the necessary support. Today, the pupils will be tested in General Paper Two, French Language, Dictation Listening Comprehension, Music and Information Communication Technologies.
