Fecafoot Restores Discipline Within Lions

Assou Ekotto, Alexandre Song and Samuel Eto’o Fils have been summoned to the disciplinary committee of Fecafoot.

In order to restore discipline within the national football selection, the national football governing body, Fecafoot, has summoned some three players to the disciplinary committee of the association on June 21. The players concerned are Benoit Assou Ekotto, Alexandre Song and team captain, Samuel Eto’o Fils.

Assou Ekotto is supposed to respond to questions concerning his refusal to honour the invitation to join the national selection in the African cup of nation’s qualifier against Senegal in Yaounde. Though purportedly injured, Assou Ekotto did not give reasons for his absence or turn up to have the injury confirmed by the medical staff of the national team as was the case with Alexandre Song.

Alexandre Song for his part is supposed to give reasons for refusing a hand shake from Samuel Eto’o, an act which according to some officials greatly poisoned the atmosphere within the Lions den and turn attention from the main focus of the day which was the crucial encounter against Senegal.

Eto’o Fils for his part will have to answer for opposing the coach’s decision to replace a player during the Cameroon-Senegal encounter. It would be recalled that Eto’o Fils openly opposed Clemente’s decision to replace Choupo-Moting, considered as the play maker during the encounter, an attitude which visibly did not please Javier Clemente and by ricochet, Fecafoot officials. He will also have to give reasons for his absence from the first training session of the Lions in Yaounde in the build-up to the encounter with Senegal.
