Coton Sport bowed 0–2 to Enyimba of Nigeria on the 6th and last day of play of the group phase of the African Champions League.
The defeat cost Coton Sport a semi final berth and worked in favour of rival, Al Hilal who sails through to the knock out stage after pulling a zero-all tie against Raja of Casablanca. But for the first half, the encounter between Enyimba and Coton Sport had nothing to do with football because of a heavy down pour which made the ball unable to bounce, wiped away all the tracing lines on the field and hindered communication between the central referee and the linesmen. Arguments which pundits say would have warranted the referee to discontinue the match
