State Property: Officials Train on Management Skills

Some 40 participants from across the country are taking part in a two-day workshop that opened in Yaounde yesterday.

A two-day seminar on the management of State property opened in Yaounde yesterday October 27. Organised by the Ministry of State Property and Land Tenure, the workshop brings together some 40 participants from across the country. The main objective of the workshop is to enable the officials to acquire new skills in the management and protection of State property; change the attitude of officials and staff involved in the management of state property through the better understanding of rules.

Speaking during the opening, the Minister of State Property and Land Tenure, Jean Baptiste Beleoken, called on participants to show proof of assiduity, discipline and availability during the workshop. For two days, participants will discuss topics such as “New procedures of Management of State property in favour of the new financial regime of the State” “Responsibility and sanction of officials in the management of state property”, and “Sanctions and responsibilities of officials.” It is expected that through the workshop, the participants will be able to better manage movable and non-movable state property and understand the mechanisms of control of management of State property; sanctions against officials in view of the prevention of embezzlement and bad conduct which can taint the credibility of government.
