Senior staff as well as regional delegates from across the country took part in a seminar that was organised in Yaounde.

A four-day workshop on ethics ended in Yaounde last Friday October 28.Organised by the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, the workshop brought together senior staff as well as regional delegates from across the country. The objective of the workshop was to strengthen the skills of the staff on the modern and efficient management of resources.

Speaking during the closing, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Marie Thérèse Abena Ondoa said regular training of staff is indispensable for government. As a result, much effort is needed to make Cameroon’s administration a veritable instrument for development. She reminded participants that the training will be of no significance if professionalism, ethics, and hard work do not go together harmoniously. Marie Thérèse Abena Ondoa assured participants of her support in the modernisation of the work. For four days, the participants discussed topics such as “The code of conduct for civil servants,” “The duties of the civil servant,” “Characteristics of operational ethics in a working environment,” and the “The role of the manager with regards to rigour and moralisation.”
