Jules Moudime to be Laid to Rest on Saturday

The official burial programme was released on tuesday.

The remains of the late president of the Cameroon Handball federation, Jules Moudime Njalla, will be laid to rest in his home town of Mouyouka in the Littoral Region on Saturday November 12, 2011. He died a fortnight ago in Kaduna-Nigeria where he accompanied Cameroonian clubs taking part in the African club champions’ cup. He suffered a heart attack in the morning of October 23, after jogging with some friends. His corpse was repatriated and placed at the mortuary of the General hospital in Yaounde. Besides being the president of the handball federation, Jules Moudime was also the financial controller of the Advanced School of Public Works, ENSTP. He graduated with a first degree in economic sciences from the then University of Yaounde. He bows his reverence at the prime of life, aged 56 and is the second handball federation president to die in six years after Colonel Djomdi Ernest also died in active service.

Meanwhile his death has put activities at the handball federation at a stand still as attention is all focused on giving him a befitting burial. According to the funeral programme, the corpse will be removed from the mortuary of the General hospital in Yaounde on Thursday, November 10 and laid in state at his residence in Anguissa-Yaounde for an all night vigil. On Friday, the corpse leaves for village in Mouyouka where there will be wake keeping. He will be lowered to eternal rest on Saturday, November 12 after religious and traditional rites must have been performed. It would be recalled that Jules Moudime died under similar circumstances as his twin brother who died in 2004.
