In other to wipe out this cankerworm, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC), launched the National Anti-corruption strategy in 2010. It is in this light that a two-day workshop on understanding and disseminating of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy in the Ministry of Basic Education opened in Yaounde last Thursday November 17.

Speaking during the opening, the Minister of Basic Education, Youssouf Hadidja Alim, said on the eve of the approval by government of the strategy, it was necessary for the to organise such a seminar so that all stakeholders can better understand it. She added that if they were well informed they will be efficient in the fight against corruption in the ministry. She called on the participants to work hands-in-glove to come out with solutions in the fight against corruption. The National Corruption Strategy has five cardinal points- prevention, education, condition, indication and sanctions. The workshop brought together officials of the central and regional services from across the country.
