The Head of State Paul Biya has renewed his confidence in you by maintaining you as Prime Minister. What are your feelings?
I feel very happy. I am very grateful to the Head of State because he has renewed his confidence in me. This is a difficult job and I am determined to work harder than ever before. My main interest which will be the main interest of a reasonable person, is to continue to serve the Head of State and this country. This is a determination which is very far greater than anyone will imagine.
You were first appointed Prime Minister on June 30, 2009. How do you intend to use the experience acquired to translate the Head of State’s major accomplishments programme into concrete reality?
The major accomplishments programme is a challenge, first of all to the Head of State, to the government and to the population. What the President of the Republic means to do by the major accomplishments is to move forward at a faster rate. Everything we have done in the past has prepared us for this eventuality. I am confident that come January 2012, we will be doing things faster than we have done before. I dare tell you, many of these accomplishments have been in gestation for sometime. They are going to come to fruition and most of the world will see this when the time comes. So, we are prepared, we are determined and I am confident that we will see the accomplishments.
What is you appeal to government and Cameroonians in general?
The major accomplishments programme is a colossal task for the country. It involves the Head of State, the government and the population. All of us will have to work together in such a way that we all succeed together. My appeal is to everybody, the government and the population to work in such a way that we can in a very symbiotic manner achieve the results we are looking for.
