His crimes, police sources say, were already many and his mode of operation was scary and sent victims to a state of trauma. The malicious acts of 23-year-old Nama, said to be a jail breaker, came to a halt when police surprised him assaulting a woman at the Mokolo neighborhood on November 19. Sources at the Mokolo Police station explained that it was in the evening when a young man alighted from a taxi with a lady’s handbag he seized, threatening her with a knife. A police in operation posted nearby immediately alerted his colleague as Nama took to his heels into a valley with the handbag and all its contents. The two police men tried to arrest Nama. But things were not easy for them. The alleged thief resisted with his knife as they battled for supremacy. Nama was finally shot and taken to the Central hospital where he passed on.
It also emerged from the Mokolo Police Station that Nama was a jail breaker, resident at the Mokolo neighborhood. He was fond of attacking ladies in taxis. “He will take a cab from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources in the morning and evenings hours for Mokolo during which he will seize the targeted handbag, pointing at the victim and taxi man with a long, sharp and frightening knife,” our source said. The source further explained that before boarding any cab, he already spotted his victim and after every act, he went into one valley around the Mokolo neighborhood where the content of the bag was emptied.
