In a statement to educate the public Friday, the association states that the use of commercial motor-bikes constitutes a serious threat to the environment, health, and security, especially as they seem vulnerable to manipulation. Without attributing the destruction to them, Prince Nasser warned that the degree of noise and carbon emission is high in Douala given the overflooding motor-bikes in the city. Since 1992 some 300 and more assaults results from this sector in Douala. “We consider commercial bikes as a source of human all-round trouble, and it is imputed to the growing insecurity in cities like Douala, Yaounde, Garoua and Bamenda. It is still an unidentified weapon and a time bomb,” Prince Nasser said. Although some people say sector offers enormous employment to young people, the Association’s President proposes the industrialization of agriculture, and encourages youths to be agriculture-orientate.
