Youths with outstanding initiatives will be promoted.

The Organising Committee for the 46th edition of the National Youth Day in the Littoral met for the second time in Douala. Chaired by the Regional Delegate of Youth and Civic Education, Same Mbou Samuel, the Committee chose Douala V Sub-Division for the official launch of this year’s Youth Day celebrated every February 11. February 4, the day for the official launch, will be marked by an exhibition of the various inventions by young people.

One of the resolutions that were taken was to promote initiatives by young people, in order to encourage self-employment and invention. On the menu of the Youth Day’s celebration, will be traditional activities like “Youth Village” during which the young people will showcase their talents in an enchanting manner. Besides the official launching, other activities will include sports, a day of volunteering, community health, cultural display, as well as march past on D-Day.

Without a theme for this year’s National Youth Day, the Organising Committee assessed the recommendations of the first meeting. Ten sub-committees put in place went to work and made useful recommendations as concerns the march past and participation by organisations. The meeting was presided by the Secretary General in the Governor’s Office, Maurice Tchoffo Sa’a.
