Given that the school is not just out to teach people how to teach sport but also to train youth counsellors to in turn empower other youths to be good citizens through civic and physical education, Daniel Ngoa Nguele says at this point, the role of the Ministries of Youths and Civic Education as well as Sports and Physical Education comes into play. The introduction of the Bachelor, Master and Doctorate (BMD) programme at INJS since 2008 has also gone a long way to render the institution more practical in its teaching system. Before 2008, students attending the National Institute for Youths and Sports had a usually routine of going to school and listening to lectures from their teachers and later carried out academic training. Within the BMD system, the teaching programme is professionally-oriented as students are trained for a job market. At INJS each course taught to students is related to the job market. The BMD system has also permitted teachers not to lazy around but improve on their research and teaching skills so as to be graded at the end of each year.
