From Mrs Mbome Constance, a teacher-turned craftswoman with fine fashion design and serigraphic products to Lekuma Godwin, aka “Bamboo Magic” with creative bamboo works through Fomo Clara with interior/exterior decoration, among others, the region’s craft products have been stealing the show. Spaghetti from cassava and plantains, pepper in cubes, Cameroon map-like washing soap (CEMAR), jewellery from palm kernel and others are some of the products in the stands. In a chart with Cameroon Tribune, Mrs Mbome said the show is a veritable place to create contacts, learn from what others are doing as well as gain new markets. To the president of the South West Crafts Association, Ekoko Samuel, “We have created contacts that can better our output and sales.” While Mrs Mbome prays organisers to always plan, at least the placement of exhibitors in the stands, well ahead of time, others like Fomo Clara would have loved the show to be extended or at least organised yearly if not twice a year.
