Inventions by young people stole the show. Hand crafted products by pupils and students telling stories of reunification were exhibited. Placed under the theme “Youth and participation in the major accomplishments policy for an emerging Cameroon”, the emphasis is on encouraging self-employment among young people through the inventions being showcased. The Douala public also had the opportunity to listen to the programme of events gearing up to the National Youth Day, following the official programme by members of the Organising Committee, which included the Governor Fai Yengo Francis, Regional Delegates of Youth and Civic Education, and Sports and Physical Education. These include timetable for all activities beginning with the official launch to the end of march past on February 11. Youth and Civic Education Delegate for the Littoral, Same Mbou Samuel, called on academic institutions participating in any of the activities to show diligence and patriotism. Meanwhile, a series other activities, such as, round table debates, an intergenerational march from the Deido Government High School to Bonanjo, volunteerism, “Youth Village”, cultural display and community health, as well as march past and music rehearsals will continue throughout this week.
