The suspected murderer of Tongleu François Xavier is in police custody at Bonanjo.

Tongleu François Xavier was reportedly stabbed on his belly at about 1 a.m. yesterday, February 7. The deceased’s younger brother, Temfouet Zebazee, 25, a drug addict and ex-murder convict, allegedly stabbed his older brother with a pair of scissors for unknown reasons.

The police say the murder suspect had taken cannabis shortly before the deceased came into his room to find out why he kept going in and out. On the floor were butts of smoked cannabis and the pair of blood-stained scissors Zebazee reportedly used. Investigators later uncovered two other pairs of scissors, four kilogrammes of cannabis and two razor blades. His breathing and state of mind showed he was still suffering fro the hangover of the drug, the police said.

Family sources are said to have told investigators that before the fatal incident, the two brothers who lived in the same home, had no problems. The sources said before Xavier’s killing, he had told other members of the family that he was trying to find out what kept his brother pacing up and down the house. Temfouet Zebazee is said to have threatened to kill him, but Xavier who apparently did not take the threat serious, stood still until he was stabbed to death.

Early yesterday, angry inhabitants of Maképé Misoké who woke up to the violent drama, stormed the Tenth District Police District in Ndogbong, threatening to break into the cell and lynch Zebazee. To avert a violent confrontation, men from the Police Mobile Intervention Unit, Bonanjo stealthily transferred the suspect to Judicial Police headquarters at Bonanjo.

This is not the first time Temfouet Zebazee is linked to murder. In the first incident, he was sentenced by the Douala High Court.
