“I was on vacation when the new minister was appointed and I thought it wise to come meet him and talk about our relations,” said the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil, Orlando Galveas. He promised Brazil’s willingness to continue to work on projects in the sectors of agriculture and education. In agriculture, Orlando Galveas Oliveira said his country intends to move from concentrating in cocoa to promote initiatives on fish farming. In education, the offer of scholarships to Cameroonian post graduate students will continue, he disclosed. The country intends to host more students this year on scholarship grants. “We have so many things similar that draw us to work together and we want to develop them,” he concluded.
Ambassador Reinhard Buchholz and External Relations Minister Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo reviewed relations between Germany and Cameroon. They agreed that there are no clouds in the sky as far as relations between both countries are concerned. German-sponsored projects in Cameroon run on a three-year basis and Ambassador Reinhard Buchholz says they are preparing for the next phase.
“It is the beginning of the year and the beginning of a new government,” said Israeli’s Ambassador, Michael Arbel. To him, it was time to wish the new Minrex boss best wishes for 2012 and to extend regards from his counterpart in Israel. “We had the opportunity to discuss about our very good bilateral relations,” Michael Arbel disclosed. Besides political and economic issues, the Israeli Ambassador discussed on how Cameroon could tap from their experience in agriculture. The country intends to cooperate more and more and to share expertise with Cameroon.
