BGFIBank Seeks Partnership With SOPECAM

The bank’s CEO last Friday March 9 paid a courtesy call on SOPECAM’s General Manager.

A Gabonese-owned bank, BGFIBank, wants partnership with the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation, SOPECAM, wherein the former will benefit from publicity on its activities and in turn support the latter it in its daily operations and investment. BGFIBank Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edgard Anon, made the disclosure last Friday March 9 after an audience granted him by SOPECAM’s General Manager, Marie Claire Nnana.

After holding talks with SOPECAM’s General Manager, Edgard Anon told Cameroon Tribune that even though it was a courtesy call, they also used it to discuss other things. “You cannot be in Yaounde and not pay a visit to the General Manager of SOPECAM whose company is a leader in its area of activity. When you are also a leader of the banking activity in the Central African Sub-region, I think it is normal that the two leaders join together to have a partnership,” he said. The bank’s main activity, he added, is financing. “We can finance SOPECAM in its daily activities as well as in its investment. We can also do business with them in terms of relationship and benefiting from its publicity given that we need to let people know what we are doing,” Mr Anon said.

The BGFIBank CEO disclosed that his bank is leader in the Central African Sub-region and is fast gaining grounds in Cameroon. “In Cameroon, we have just started but from recent statistics from the banking association, I can tell you that in less than one year, we have been able to finance the economy of Cameroon to the tune of almost FCFA 70 billion. This gives you an idea of what we are capable of doing,” he concluded.
