The team was installed yesterday March 12 in Yaounde by Minister Mama Fouda.
The Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda yesterday March 12, 2012 at Ngousso, Yaounde commissioned the new General Manager of the Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric Hospital, Professor Angwafo III Fru Fobushi and his deputy, Dr. Nsom Mba Charles.
Speaking at occasion, Minister Fouda reminded the officials of the need to preserve the image of the hospital, ensure quality treatment for patients and the security of patients and their propriety. The new General Manager, Professor Angwafo III Fru Fobushi replaces Professor Doh Anderson Sama who headed the structure for ten years.
Before his appointment Professor Fru Angwafo was Secretary General in the Ministry of Public Health since 2006. He has 26 years of experience in research and medicine. He is also a specialist in urology, a subject he taught in the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaounde 1 where he served as Vice Dean. He is also member of several national, international and regional academic and professional organisations.
Dr. Nsom Mba Charles on the other hand has 26 years of experience in research. Prior to his appointment, he was the Regional Delegate for Public Health in the East Region. It is expected that the new management will bring their expertise to the Gynaeco-Obstetric Hospital to salvage its image. The hospital is currently involved in a long-running scandal of a baby that was stolen last year.
