Cameroon yesterday March 12 joined other 53 countries to celebrate the Commonwealth Day on the theme « Connecting Cultures. »
At the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, a Diversity Competition was organised by the Youth Caucus. It’s Representative to the Commonwealth, Rose Mary Agbor told youths present to embrace opportunities offered by the Commonwealth. She said the Gentleman’s Club offers scholarship schemes for youths with leadership skills, offer training geared towards professionalism and above all has come up with a Commonwealth Youth Initiative where entrepreneurial initiatives are promoted. The Commonwealth Youth Initiative, she hinted, will go operational anytime this year. Rose Mary Agbor said: “Youths have a principal and indispensable role in the development of not only the Commonwealth but Cameroon.” The exchange with students from colleges in Yaounde was to create an enabling environment for youth development.
