North West: CPDM Prepares For Future Political Challenges

Party officials attended a seminar in Bamenda yesterday March 22 on building new dynamics.


The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in the North West Region is mobilising its human and intellectual resources to consolidate achievements and build new dynamics in order to adequately face future political challenges. The party officials from different levels exchanged ideas and updated skills in a seminar at the Bamenda Congress Centre, March 22, 2012 on the theme, “Consolidating achievements and building new dynamics.” This was to furnish the officials with the necessary knowledge they would impart to the grassroots supporters on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the CPDM on Saturday, March 24, 2012.

Prime Minister, Philemon Yang, in his keynote opening address said registration for the upcoming elections “is absolutely necessary so that we can continuously conquer more in future.” He recalled the theme of the celebration of the CPDM 27th anniversary which is the modernisation of the electoral process and stated that it was important in order to have credible elections. The Prime Minister expressed joy at the fact that the people of the North West have embraced peace, stability and order as part of the CPDM that preaches the values. He said, “We can shape our future by working with the CPDM”, and stressed that, “It is important to make right choices that define us and determine what we intend to be.”

CPDM North West Section Presidents, Central Committee delegation leaders and members, mayors, Members of Parliament and other elite left Bamenda filled with knowledge from different presentations. Key among the presentations were “understanding elections in the North West Region”, “registration of voters, promoting political harmony within our constituencies” and “knowing our grassroots militants through the political base inventory.” Other presentations included “grassroots militancy, understanding the basic texts of the CPDM,” “the political empowerment of the North West woman,” “financial accountability within the North West politics” and “the North West youth today and tomorrow.”

Minister Ismael Bidoung Kpwatt, Secretary in charge of Specialised Organisations represented the Secretary General of the Central Committee.
