Ngoketunjia: Voters’ Registration Mobilisation Launched

CPDM officials and traditional rulers started mobilising the population on March 24, 2012.

The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) Central Committee delegation in Ngoketunjia Division, led by the Director of Cabinet at the Prime Minister’s Office, Professor Paul Ghogomu Mingo, local party officials and the traditional ruler of Bambalang, Fon Kevin Shomitang II, have called on the population to massively register when Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) will launch the recompilation of voters’ register. The mobilization messages were delivered on March 24, 2012 during celebrations marking the 27th anniversary of the CPDM.

Professor Paul Ghogomu speaking at the meeting in the Bambalang Palace in the presence of the Senior Divisional Officer for Ngoketunjia, Norbert Valerie Kuela, said the celebration was also an ocassion to thank the Division for coming first in the North West Region in voting President Paul Biya in the October 9, 2011 presidential elections. Paul Biya won 56.97 per cent of the votes cast. He called for door-to-door voters’ registration mobilisation so that Bambalang with over 40,000 inhabitants and the Division in general, can register and vote CPDM candidates in the upcoming council and parliamentary elections. Fon Kevin Shomitang II of Bambalang, while calling on the population to register and vote the CPDM, declared that he has launched “Operation forwards ever and backwards never,” to foster development.
