The 11th day of play of the on-going MTN Elite One championship was full of upsets. While Renaissance of Ngoumou and Tiko United recorded their first victories in the championship, Coton Sport of Garoua on the contrary registered their first defeat of the season. Before now Renaissance and Tiko United had recorded only defeats or draws.
Renaissance beat title contenders, Unisport, 2-1 in their own backyard in Bafang to hop out of the relegation zone. Tiko United on their part beat their fellow brothers of the South West, Njalla Quan Academy 2-0. However, the victory has no effect as the Samba Boys still remain at the tail end of the classification chart. Coton Sport’s defeat caused them to relinquish the first position to Union Douala who despite a one-all draw against New Stars of the economic capital, assumes the leadership position with one point ahead of Coton Sport.
