Feasibility studies have already started as local officials hold meetings with stakeholders

The inhabitants along the Kumba-Mamfe road will soon be smiling as the construction work of the road network will soon start. This revelation was made recently during a meeting held by officials from the African Development Bank, ADB, with the chiefs, service heads and stakeholders in the area.

According to the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, David Koulbout Amand, whose role is to facilitate the work by sensitising the chiefs, service heads and stakeholders in his jurisdiction, there is the need for good roads to boost socio-economic development. Reason why he has vowed to put everything in place to see that those in his jurisdiction cooperate with those who are to carry out the project.

The good news, the Meme boss said is that, “their attention will not be limited on the construction of the main road, but social infrastructure like health centres, schools et el will also be taken care of.” The SDO said the road shall bring development to all the villages along the stretch of road.

According to reports from inhabitants along the road, feasibility studies have begun and after this exercise, a cost estimate will be drawn up for allocation of budget so that work can begin.

Besides the Kumba-Mamfe road, other long-awaited road construction on principal roads like the Kumba-Mbonge and Mundemba road among others are already underway.
