Experts in the road sector are taking part in a four-day workshop in Yaounde.

Improving the transport sector in the country is a major priority of government. It is in this light that a four-day seminar on drafting the Strategic Action Plan (PAP) of the Ministry of Transport for 2013-2017 opened in Yaounde Tuesday April 10.

Speaking at the opening, the Secretary General in the Ministry of Transport, Jean Pierre Soh, called on participants to work hands-in-glove in order to come out with a coherent strategic action plan that conforms to the Greater Ambitions policy of the Head of State. The objective of the workshop is also to update data on investment projects of the transport sector.

Organised by the Ministry of Transport in collaboration with the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, the workshop brings together participants from across the country.

For four days, participants will be drilled on topics such as “Modernisation of infrastructure, means and transport services,” “Improvement of security system in different modes of transport and improvement of the system of collection of meteorological data,” and the “Improvement of working conditions and promotion of good governance.” The workshop is facilitated by experts from the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and regional Development.
