Banda Kani Explains NMP’s Vision

The New Popular Movement (NMP) party organised a six-day Politics Days in Douala.

Banda Kani, who came up with the new party, the New Popular Movement (NMP), shortly after backing out of the New Movement for Africa’s Independence and Democracy (MANIDEM), says his new political vision and thoughts are based on God as revealed by Christ. He made this revelation during a press conference in New Bell Ngangue on Thursday April 13 as a part of activities to mark the Politics Days (April 9-14) organised by the NMP.

“Without a solid experience based on a true knowledge of God through Christ Jesus, humanity is condemned to self-destruction,” he reiterated.

As to why the days, Banda explained that the purpose was due to national and international stakes which beckon local intervention. He said NMP incarnates a political innovation which has as vocation the reconciliation of the country Cameroon with its prophetic destiny. He called on Cameroonians to join hands with government effort to reaffirm the sacred and non-negotiable character of stability and institutional continuity. The party’s political and economic propositions were also made known as well as two declarations by the party on international affairs and Christianity.

As concerns the former, the President of NMP condemned the crises in Senegal, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire and Libya as well as the place of some international organisations. An action plan of the party, which runs from April to December 2012, was revealed.
